This poem is a sonnet I wrote after reflecting on the death of Stephen Hawking. I imagined Hawking dating beautiful for women and seeing their beauty comparable to the universe he studied. Enjoy.
She cakes layers of makeup to matter
and fills in volcanic ooze from her pores.
I wonder what’s the make up of matter
she’d add to her complexion life from shores.
Creatures from her birth ravish her beauty.
The world is skin deep and wrinkles cover her
landscape with star children gazing to see
some father in the distant to call sir.
Miss Universe is a dissipative
structure, and Covergirl wants her face back.
They both swirl down the drain for the creative
rebirth to a blissful amnesiac.
Night she tears her veil to be spread unearth
wide open to lose that feeling of dearth.
